The LOTUS Project will support the development of digital pedagogy and expertise in the use of digital tools for VET teachers, including the creation and innovative use of digital education content. Using DigCompEdu partners will focus on building educators’ pedagogic competences in the areas to teaching & learning and digital resources in 6 European countries – Ireland, Croatia, Portugal, Czech Republic, Italy and Austria.

Led by a consortium of partners leveraging the Digital Competence Framework for Educators (DigCompEdu), the LOTUS Project aims to empower VET teachers with advanced digital competencies and expertise in utilising digital tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences. By fostering the creation and strategic utilisation of digital education content, the project is poised to elevate the standards of VET education across Europe.

At the core of LOTUS lies a commitment to equip VET teachers with the skills necessary to navigate the digital landscape effectively, facilitating a seamless transition towards digital education. Through targeted interventions and resource development, the project seeks to enhance educators’ ability to harness digital technologies for optimised learning outcomes.

Moreover, LOTUS introduces a pioneering approach to career management skills development among VET learners, aligning vocational guidance with the evolving demands of the post-Covid-19 European employment landscape. Recognising the importance of career planning in today’s dynamic job market, the project will equip young VET learners with the tools and resources needed to navigate their career trajectories successfully.

The project’s holistic approach extends beyond technical skills to foster essential personal attributes such as stress management, critical thinking, problem-solving, and resilience among VET learners. By addressing these vital skills, LOTUS aims to empower young individuals to thrive amidst challenges and uncertainties, ensuring their readiness for the future of work.

Furthermore, LOTUS is dedicated to supporting VET teachers through tailored interventions focused on motivation, positivity, change management, and professional development. By offering bespoke Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), the project aims to cultivate resilience within the VET community, both educators and learners alike.
