Inspiring Digital Entrepreneurship and Awareness in Higher Education (IDEA) – Test & Validation Activities

July 26, 2021

IDP European Consultants has recently concluded the Test & Validation activities on the IDEA project.

Starting from late 2019, Partners assessed, reviewed and revised literature sources that could provide for meaningful insights on the current status of digital entrepreneurship and digital entrepreneurship education across Europe (available here). Findings suggested an increasing relevancy not only of entrepreneurial skills, but also entrepreneurial skills combined with digital literacy and ICT proficiency for aspiring young entrepreneurs and fresh graduates.

Based on results, Partners developed training modules that are properly fine-tuned on needs and skill gaps as emerging from the cross-national assessment. To better evaluate the pedagogical accuracy and relevancy of training materials, Partners are deploying the courses in pilot version to the cohort of targets addressed by the project.

The student cohort consists of approximately 40 participants. The topics covered in the lectures were:

– Fundamentals of digital entrepreneurship

– ICT skills

– Business management

Thanks to activities implemented by Partners and following results achieved throughout these two years of project implementation, IDEA proposes an innovative approach of one important factor influencing entrepreneurial success: the use of digital skills applied to entrepreneurship.

In the Project, IDP brings its consolidated experience and expertise as a private provider of VET and adult education services. IDP has 25 years of experience in international and cross-border collaboration in the field of promotion of entrepreneurship and employability. IDP will greatly contribute to the technical and operational activities of the Project carrying out analysis and stock-taking activities of the Italian VET ecosystem pertaining to the project; contributing to structuring modules, developing methodologies for effective teaching and learning, materials and content.

IDEA (Inspiring Digital Entrepreneurship) is co-funded by the Erasmus Plus Programme of the European Commission and involves a Consortium of nine Partners from seven European countries i.e. Belgium, Croatia, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Spain. The Project aims at raising awareness among HE institutions and education authorities about the potential of digital and entrepreneurship skills and their role as business success factors. Through all these activities IDEA will improve professional success chances of HE students with different backgrounds.

Evidence-based results on trends and dynamics of Adult Learning: IDP European Consultants joined the second Transnational Project Meeting of LEAP

June 30, 2021

IDP European Consultants joined the second transnational meeting of LEAP (Local Adult Education Policy), a Project co-funded by the Erasmus Plus Programme of the European Commission, which brings together seven Partners from six countries (Belgium, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Spain). The meeting was held in online mode due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The main objective of the meeting was to present the progress achieved in the Intellectual Output 2: the literature review, country reports, tools and good practices, and surveys, including a detailed analysis from each Partner. IO2 is composed of primary and secondary research. In particular, Partners focused on the review of policy papers, studies, research, articles and other relevant sources and resources.

The results presented by the Partners corroborate the relevancy of the project. In fact, a lack of information from local policy makers regarding European policies in the domain of Adult Education (AE) and LLL (Life Long Learning) was found.

The Partnership also started to discuss the Intellectual Output 3, sharing recommendations for future implementation.

A brief review of Dissemination and Quality Assurance considerations followed.

The LEAP project responds to the need to increase adult participation in formal, non-formal and informal learning set out at local, national and EU level. Given the evidence of a disconnect between the macro level of policy (EU dimension) and the micro level (local/regional dimension), LEAP directly targets local decision-makers and the technical staff of local authorities to ensure they are aware of the importance of AE and that they are prepared to draft impactful local AE policies. To increase policy effectiveness, however, the project encourages cooperation with the wider AE ecosystem and thus also targets the full range of stakeholders involved in AE, such as education providers, learning centres, cultural centres, and the civil society.

The LEAP Website is now online at https://leap2local.eu, providing specific info on project aims, activities and results. Users can access LEAP’s OER Platform and its multilanguage results for free, no sort of log-in credentials are required.
