LOTUS MOOC launches to Build Resilience, Digital Competence and Career Skills in VET – The LOTUS MOOC is now officially launched and freely accessible at https://lotusmooc.eu/en/.
Designed to meet the evolving needs of the VET sector across Europe, this self-paced learning platform empowers VET educators and learners to build resilience, enhance digital pedagogy, and develop core career management skills.
At the heart of the platform are seven self-directed modules, each tailored to support professional growth and digital transformation in teaching and learning:
- Collaborative Learning
- Digital Pedagogy
- Technology Integration
- Innovation and Creativity
- Digital Content Creation and Curation
- Selecting and Evaluating Digital Resources and Tools
- Resilience Building in VET Educators
These modules provide practical tools and approaches that enable educators to navigate the digital shift, foster innovation, and support their learners with confidence.
The resilience-building focus is central to LOTUS. Learners gain a clear understanding of what resilience means, how to cultivate it through daily practice, and how to develop resilient values, behaviours, and self-care routines. This is reinforced through the LOTUS Journalling Tool, a flexible resource for self-reflection, creativity, goal-setting, and personal growth.
To support career readiness among VET learners, the LOTUS platform also offers 18 interactive infographics covering essential Career Management Skills across three areas:
- PREPARE: teamwork, communication, problem-solving, initiative
- SEARCH: job searching, skill assessment, interview preparation
- SECURE: labour market awareness, digital skills, adaptability, and futureproofing careers
These infographics are designed for educators to use with diverse learners—from school leavers and early-career jobseekers to young people in precarious employment.
Importantly, the LOTUS project also introduces an Open Badge Framework to recognise learning and professional development. Upon successful completion of the LOTUS In-Service Training, VET professionals will earn digital badges; verifiable, shareable credentials that showcase newly acquired skills and achievements. These badges can be added to CVs, websites, or social media profiles to enhance career visibility and mobility.
