IDP joined the “Skills For Industry Strategy 2030” event, organized by the European Commission Brussels. It is fairly clear how Europe is facing a constantly developing skills gap that puts slowing future growth at stake – this exacerbates social inequalities among them.
A significant response is required to the enhancement of skills and/or a re-empowerment of the European workforce: how Europe can be successful in best practices and finance this enormous effort? Over a two day course, a major conference addressed these issues. After the EU Industry Days 2019, this event invited business leaders, policy makers, academics and education and training actors to promote a dialogue between these parties and concrete measures to be taken, in order to facilitate the implementation of skill-building strategies.
On the former day, a vision and solutions for a significant increase in the skills of the European workforce was discussed in order to better understand the transformation of EU industries and its impact on skills, whereas on the latter, financial aspect by establishing innovative financing programmes in 2021-2027 were addressed.
